Went to a flea market in Brunswick on Saturday to look for something for the boys. They're out of luck, but I hit the jackpot! I have never seen bottles with glass stoppers anywhere on the internet or in person.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Hi all,
Hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing, turkey-filled day on Thursday. We had a great vacation in DC, and the restaurant where we had our turkey dinner was wonderful. I must say, there's something to be said for no preparation and no clean-up! We walked many miles to all the museums and sights, and now we're really glad to be home.
Merry Carla was at it - cleaning like a maniac. She goes above and beyond the call of duty! I'll be sending photos soon of the redone guest room/office, which I managed to get mostly done before we left, and then Mom came in and washed the walls and tooth-brushed the baseboards.
I've been keeping up with all the Facebook and blog stuff - just haven't had much time to make any comments.

Our proud student!
Hi all,
Don't know where the week has gone so far. I had 4 rehearsals and a concert, plus one morning at work since I last wrote.
We're very proud of Eric, who brought home his first 6th grade report card. He had mid 80s and a couple 90s on everything except math, in which he got a 76! He worked very, very hard to get those grades.

Old Mill Violins
Finished my first time at work today. It was nice. Val showed me how he does various things. My memory needs lots of jogging. It's been 7 years since I was at Johnsons! Here are some pics of the place. I think I'll be able to help him organize the space a bit better, but I'm going to wait 'til I learn the lay of the land.

Knitting projects
Good morning,
It'a a gray, dreary day here, but Mom and I are going bumming for a while, so that should be fun. I will start my new job tomorrow. I'm excited to get out of the house and do something. I'm glad, though, that it's just a few mornings a week so I still have time to practice and get stuff done.
Here are my two knitting projects I have going right now. I named the scarf my "DaPonte" scarf, since I started it right after getting the bad news, and it's been helpful to knit my anger away! The blue blanket is for my friend Yasmin's new baby boy who will be arriving at the New Year. I like to make little blankets that can cover the baby in the car seat, or that they can hold in a stroller without it draping all over the place.

Alex's prediction proves true!
Well, whether or not you voted for Obama, one can't help but feel that it can only be good for the country to have such a young, energetic, and above all articulate person in the White House!
Had a pretty dull day today - went to Mom's and removed the programmable thermostats that she couldn't get the hang of programming. Put the old ones back in, only shocking myself once in the process! I could not find which circuit to shut off, so finally shut of the whole house. Any suggestions anyone?

Halloween
It was a beautiful, calm night - not too cold - for Halloween this year. The boys were so excited! They both wanted to have the same costume, which surprised me quite a bit. When you see the picture, I think the costumes were very successful, because it looks like they're in gale-force winds, when actually it was completely calm! Unfortunately I was feeling under the weather with a bad sore throat, but I managed to get through the evening. Grandma's place was all decorated again this year and we stopped by there for a while.
I'm ready to try blogging!
